Kristy McGrew, Thomas Howell are engaged

XFOWLER -- Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McGrew, 5549 Everett Cortland-Hull Road NE, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Lynn McGrew, and Thomas James Howell, both of North Beach, Md.
Parents of the future groom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howell of Bloomingdale.
Miss McGrew graduated from Bethany College in Bethany, W.Va., with a bachelor's degree in economics. She is an economist with the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington.
Mr. Howell is a third-grade teacher at Calvert County, Windy Hill Elementary School in North Beach. He graduated from Bethany College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
The couple have planned an open wedding for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at Bethany College Commencement Hall and will issue invitations for their evening reception at Wheeling Artisan Center in Wheeling, W.Va.
