XCANFIELD -- Canfield Christian Church was the setting July 9 as the Rev. Jay Eastman solemnized the marriage of Kathleen Marie Boyer of Salem and Leo Frederick Ameel, 20870 Elm Forest, Clinton Township, Mich.
The couple exchanged nuptial vows during the 4 p.m. ceremony, and a reception was held afterward in the church fellowship hall.
The bride is a daughter of Margaret Boyer, 915 Jennings, Salem, and the late Glenn Boyer. Parents of the groom are Leo B. Ameel and Dorothy M. Ameel, both of Algonac, Mich.
After a wedding trip to Atlantic City, the couple live in Clinton Township.
The bride wore a strapless, cream-colored gown embellished with pearls and sequins.
Serving as her honor attendant was the bride's daughter, Amanda Marie Corey of Springfield, and the duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Kenneth W. Ameel of Waterford, Mich.
The bride was a machine operator with Quaker Manufacturing Corp. in Salem prior to her marriage.
The groom attended Macomb Community College in Michigan and is in robotic operations with General Motors Corp. in Detroit. He served from 1969 to 1972 with the U.S. Army.
