Trumbull County meet is Tuesday at Lakeview



CORTLAND -- Some of the area's best athletes, representing 19 schools, will compete in the Trumbull County track and field meet at Lakeview High Tuesday and Thursday.
Preliminaries and some finals will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m., with the rest of the finals set for Thursday at 5 p.m.
Warren Kennedy's girls and Warren Harding's boys are the defending champs.
The 800-meter run will feature Tom Andriko (a best time of 1 minute, 59.4 seconds this season) of Lordstown, Ryan Gilanyi (2:01.4) of Southington, Anthony Puntel (2:01.5) of McDonald, Aaron Pollack (2:03.7) of Liberty and Vinny Freedman (2:04) of Howland.
Andriko (50.5) is the defending 400 champ, but Marcellus Bowman (50.0) of Liberty, Eric Daniels (51.0) of Warren Harding and Marcus Johnson (52.0) of Howland should make this a close race.
Jennifer Grayson, who has qualified for the state meet the past three years, is the defending 100 hurdles and high jump champion.
The girls 300 hurdles race will include Angeline Cicero (46.3) of Warren JFK, Rachel Crafton (47.7) of Hubbard, Abbey Kibler (49.7) of Mineral Ridge, Samantha Kistler (49.8) of Mineral Ridge, Kari Haywood (50.5) of Brookfield and Rachel Mariotti (50.9) of Lowellville.
Entered in the long jump will be Katie Nentwick (16 feet, 6 inches), Amanda Rummell (16-4) of Mineral Ridge, Samantha Kistler (15-9) of Lowellville, Aarika Knopp (15-7 1/2) of Warren JFK, Abbey Kiger (15-5) of Mineral Ridge and Tara Ford (15-4) of Mathews.
