2 new Ohio specialty license plates offered



COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced that two new specialty license plates will be available for sale starting Monday.
One of new plates features an image of Perry's Monument, and the words "Put-In-Bay" at the bottom. The plate costs $25 annually, in addition to the normal registration fees. A portion of the fees ($15) will go to the Friends of Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial Inc. to be used for holding charitable, education and cultural events at the monument. The second plate features the University of Akron's athletic logo. This plate will be in addition to the current plate that displays the university's seal. These plates cost $35 annually, in addition to the normal registration fees. A portion of the price will go to the University of Akron.
The plates can be ordered at any deputy registrar's office, by mail, or online at www.oplates.com. Requests for special plates may be made at any deputy registrar's office online, through the mail, or by calling the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at 1-888-PLATES3 (1-888-752-8373).
