All City Choral Festival
YOUNGSTOWN -- The city school district will hold its All City Choral Festival at 7 tonight in the gymnasium of the Beeghly Physical Education Building at Youngstown State University.
The concert will feature pupils in primary, upper elementary, junior high school and high school choral groups.
Dr. Stephen Ausmann, associate professor of music education and coordinator of vocal choral studies at YSU, will be guest director.

Duck Creek Road closed
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Engineer's office announced that Duck Creek Road will be closed today between Mahoning Avenue and Silica Road so a culvert can be replaced.
The road is expected to be reopened Thursday.
Building unsafe after fire
BOARDMAN -- Fire destroyed a Southern Boulevard business, but damage to the structure makes it unsafe for firefighters to get inside to determine a cause.
Firefighters were called to Boardman Supply, which Chief James Dorman said was up for sale and not operating, shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday.
A 20-ton hopper used to mix cement for cement trucks was on the upper level with damage to the lower level supports.
"The building is too dangerous to go into," the chief said.
No one was in the building at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
Accused of tire dumping
YOUNGSTOWN -- Thomas Valley, 41, of Riley Avenue, Struthers, was charged with theft of services after being accused of dumping 24 tires into a trash bin behind Big Lots on East Midlothian Boulevard, reports show.
Police stopped Riley's pickup truck as he pulled away from the trash bin Monday afternoon. Riley was issued a summons, and the assistant store manager told police he wanted to prosecute. The tires were reloaded, and Riley's truck was towed and held for detectives.
Riley pleaded innocent at arraignment Tuesday in municipal court. He will be back in court June 2.
Traffic stop finds drugs
YOUNGSTOWN -- Richard E. Maldonado Jr.'s passenger denied ownership of six packaged-for-sale bags of marijuana found during a traffic stop Monday night on Oakhill Avenue and told police Maldonado picked it up "to sell in Boardman where he lives," reports show.
A cab was called to take the passenger home, and Maldonado, 19, of West Boulevard, Boardman, was charged with aggravated trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana pipe), cracked windshield and failure to signal a turn.
Maldonado pleaded innocent at arraignment Tuesday in municipal court, and bond was set at $12,500. He will be back in court May 24.
Man withdraws plea
WARREN -- A 27-year-old city man chose to go to trial rather than plead guilty to a voluntary manslaughter charge in an April 2004 fatal shooting at a local bar.
Robert C. Williams of Deerfield Avenue is under indictment in the shooting of Orson Provitt, 29, of Jackson Street. Provitt was standing near the bar at the Golden Stallion, Warren Township, when the shooting took place, township police said.
Instead of being sentenced to prison Monday, Williams withdrew his previous guilty plea. An Oct. 17 trial date was set before Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Boardman driving course
BOARDMAN -- Township officials will sponsor a course on "Driving Tips for the Mature Driver" at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the township government center on Market Street.
