AUCTIONS
XBeaver Creek Horseman's Association will be holding a Tack Auction and Swap Meet on Sunday at the Rogers Sale Pavilion, Rogers. The swap meet will begin at 10 a.m. New tack will be auctioned at 1 p.m., and used tack will follow at 4 p.m. Inside spaces are available for the swap meet; the fee is $10. Spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis with paid registration. BINGO AND CARD PARTIES
XAltar and Rosary Society at St. Patrick Church will hold its spring card and bingo party at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church hall, 225 N. Main St., Hubbard. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
CRAFT SHOWS
XTable space is available for Southington Bicentennial Committee's Craft and Vendor Show to be held Aug. 13 during the Founder's Day Celebration. The show will be held in the Southington High School gymnasium, 4432 state Route 305 N.W. The cost of each 10-by-10 table space is $15, and the deadline is Sunday. FASHION SHOWS
XChurch Hill United Methodist Church Relay for Life is sponsoring "Spring Fancies" fashion show on Sunday at Ciminero's Banquet Centre, 123 Main St. N., Niles. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the show starts at 1. Cost is $20 and includes lunch and a Chinese auction. For more information call Dolly Sonnenlitter at (330) 545-5957.
FESTIVALS
XSpace is available for the Columbiana Arts and Craft Festival, sponsored by Columbiana Rotary, to be held July 2 on the square in Columbiana. Vendors should call (330) 482-2954. Nonprofit groups wanting a space should call Sean Holloway at (330) 482-3385.
FUND-RAISERS
XBoardman Community Baseball League is hosting a benefit skating party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Boardman Skate Connection. Admission is $2 for all players and their families and coaches. Skate rental is additional $2.25 for regular skates or $3.25 for in-line or speed skates. Anyone can bring their own skates. Nonskating adults can come in for free. SALES
XThe Altar Guild of the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., is hosting its annual rummage sale in the church fellowship hall from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Lunch will be available.
XFirst United Methodist Church of Mineral Ridge, 3711 state Route 46, is having a trash to treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be available. Proceeds will benefit Relay For Life.
XMen's Garden Club of Youngstown will be selling flowers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19-21 at Masco Greenhouse, corner of Bev Road and South Avenue. Begonias, impatiens, petunias, marigolds, dusty miller and geraniums will be available at $10.95 a flat (36 plants) or $2 a six pack. Potted plants also will be available. XNew Wilmington Kiwanis Book Sale will be held Wednesday through Saturday at the Jameson Healthplace garage opposite Eckerd Drug Store, South Market Street. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Hardbacks will be selling for 50 cents and paperbacks, 25 cents each or five for $1. Used book donations will be accepted during the hours of the sale except Reader's Digest Condensed Book). Proceeds of the sale will be used to support community programs, especially those serving children and youth.
XThe seniors at Vertner W. Tandy Apartments, 33 Monette St., Campbell, will be having their annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4.
XZion Hill Church, 14550 New Buffalo Road, will be having a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, which will be half-off day with clothing $1 a bag. All proceeds help cover expenses of children attending Inspiration Hills Camp this summer.
SHOWS
XThe Knox Antique Auto, Engine and Tractor Association is hosting its 15th annual show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Mile Branch Grange, Knox School Road. Any antique car and machinery exhibitors are welcome to participate. The show is open to the public and free of charge. There will also be a flea market, craft sale and bake sale. SPECIAL EVENTS
XYoungstown CityScape will host "An Evening at Stambaugh Auditorium" as part of its Rediscover Youngstown Series. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 100 Fifth Ave., and will include behind-the-scenes tours showcasing the preservation, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
