XVIENNA -- Katherine Herdman, daughter of David and Patricia Herdman, 1316 Will-O-Wood Drive, Hubbard, became the bride of John Chismar Jr., son of John and Elizabeth Chismar, 145 South Shore Drive, Boardman, during a 2 p.m. ceremony April 9 at St. Vincent DePaul Church.
The Rev. Frank Zanni performed the ceremony, and a reception followed at the Davis Center in Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.
The bride was wearing an A-line gown of ivory silk trimmed with beading and embroidery and styled with a semicathedral train.
Maid of honor was Julie Glasnapp of Oakton, Va., and bridesmaids were Jacqueline Herdman of Monrovia, Calif., the bride's niece, and Lisa O'Brien of Columbus, sister of the groom. They wore champagne-colored dresses.
Performing the duties of best man was Tom Buck of Poland, and groomsmen were Ryan Mills of Twinsburg and Mark McDonough of Poland. Jason O'Brien of Columbus, the groom's nephew, was ring bearer.
After a honeymoon trip to Italy, France and Spain, the couple are living in Pickerington.
Both are employed as engineers in Columbus after graduating from Youngstown State University. She earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and he received a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.
