MAHONING COUNTY
Commissioners' meeting
The county commissioners handled these matters Thursday:
Heard from the county engineer's office that Hubbard Road between County Line and McGuffey roads in Coitsville Township will be closed Tuesday to replace a culvert. The work will be completed the same day.
Approved an agreement between the Juvenile Justice Center and Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital for physician services for the center's detention facility for $50,000. The money comes from the general fund.
Heard a reminder from county Recorder Ronald V. Gerberry that his office will begin reduced hours Monday. The office will be open for document recording weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The office will close for lunch at noon, and only the records room in the county courthouse basement will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. for title and abstracting work and research. The reduced hours were caused by the county's budget shortfall.
Announced that the commissioners' next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Springfield Intermediate School. The commissioners also will talk about the half-percent sales tax after the session.
Commissioners also handled these matters at a meeting Tuesday night:
A resolution authorizing a child care fair April 29 at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield.
An agreement with the Ohio Auditor's office for the county's annual audit for the period ending Dec. 31, 2004. The $173,800 audit cost comes from the general fund.
An agreement with Jackson Township and the county's Recycling Division to pave the township's cemetery driveways with recycled crumb rubber. The $24,700 cost comes from recycling division funds.
