Expo brings together users of many disciplines

Practitioners gather to offer glimpse of holistic healing.
LIBERTY -- If you are a long-time supporter of holistic health, someone who is just beginning to explore alternative therapies, or a person who is simply curious about the many facets of holistic healing, the sixth Health Choices Network Expo will probably be right up your alley.
The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1 at Holiday Inn Metroplex.
"This will be a great opportunity for people to meet the leading natural health practitioners in the area," says Ted Suzelis, ND. Suzelis is one of the many participants.
Health Choices Network was founded in 1993 by a small group of practitioners and friends of alternative healing as a means to network and as a support group. Since then it has grown to over 50 members, and is the largest network of holistic healers in the area. And the interest in holistic healing in Northeast Ohio is rapidly growing, too.
"People seem interested in complimentary healthcare and natural products, but don't know where to start," says Robin Suzelis, another participant. "The HCN Expo will have a little bit of everything to get people started in the right direction." Suzelis is on the HCN board and helped to plan of the event.
"The HCN Expo is a chance for people to discover what is going on in their own back yard, and meet practitioners from Youngstown, Warren, and Western PA," says Sharon Dundee, publisher of Get a Life Magazine. "You don't have to drive to Cleveland or Pittsburgh, and can meet practitioners face to face before making a purchase or appointment. Plus, it is a unique and enjoyable afternoon."
Informational exhibits
Each participant will have a table set up with information about his business or practice, along with, in many cases, products or services for sale. Throughout the expo, lectures will be given by various participants. Health food stores, organic farming, massage, Reiki, meditation, and chiropractics are just a few of the areas that will be represented.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to demonstrate and educate people about the benefits of Thai Yoga Massage," says Debbie Cogan. "While TYM is over 2,500 years old, it is relatively new to North America."
In addition, there will be a kids craft table, provided by Mariposa Art Gallery in Poland, where children can make crafts to take home with them. The first 500 attendees will receive a welcome bag, which contains brochures of the participants, discount cards, a HCN Resource Guide, a copy of Get a Life Magazine, and more.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Cleveland harpist Carol Spears, and the day will end with drumming, led by local drumming circle leaders, Dan and Pam Susany.

"We would also like to thank the growing number of people expressing a desire to learn more about holistic health care and the benefits they gain from it."
