Campbell drops Chaney; Mooney, Ursuline cruise



Kevin Drummond had two hits and two RBIs, and scored three runs for Mooney.
CAMPBELL -- Lonnie McQueen (3-2) scattered three hits and struck out six batters to lead the Campbell Memorial High baseball team to an 11-1 victory over Chaney at Roosevelt Park.
Craig Direnzo hit a double, single, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Red Devils (6-5). Frazier Trikios added a pair of singles and drove in two runs.
Mooney 13, Struthers 2
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Cardinals sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning to produce four singles and five runs.
In the fourth inning, the Cardinals had 11 batters produce a double, three singles and six more runs.
Mooney (11-1) was paced by Kyle McCarthy and Kevin Drummond with two singles apiece. Drummond drove in two runs and scored three times.
Tom Peluso hit a pair of singles and scored once for the Wildcats (2-10).
Ursuline 8, East Palestine 2
EAST PALESTINE -- Ryan Satterlee and Dom Cutrone each had two hits for the Irish (11-4). Sean Satterlee and Justin Markota added doubles.
Lisbon 9, East Palestine 4
LISBON -- Winning pitcher Brian Bangor hit a pair of doubles to spark the Blue Devils in the Tri-County League game.
Travis led the Bulldogs (0-12) with a pair of doubles and a single.
Carrollton 9, West Branch 3
CARROLLTON -- Carrollton blew open a close game with a five-run sixth inning.
Kurtis Johnson homered, while Scott Sevek and Don Barnes had two hits each for Carrollton (8-4, 3-2).
Josh Winans had three hits and drove in two runs for the Warriors (7-5, 3-4).
Garfield 13, Southeast 4
RAVENNA -- Robert Carlisle had three hits including two home runs and seven RBIs to lead Garfield.
Brian Cain added two doubles for Garfield (7-2, 6-0) while Gret Lemley had three hits and Joe Knapick two doubles for Southeast (1-11, 1-5).
Ledgemont 9, Youngstown Christian 8
THOMPSON -- Ledgemont (1-6) snapped a six-game losing streak in handing the Eagles their fourth loss in six outings.
Jon Warmeling hit a triple and two singles and drove in two runs for Ledgemont.
Nathaiel Setnick hit a double and two singles, drove in a run and scored once for the Eagles.
Late Monday
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jim Sudon, John Wilaj and Dave Harris each had two hits for Lowellville (2-11) in an 11-10 win over Wilson.
The Redmen are 0-10.
