Rabies shots offered for dogs, cats, ferrets



AUSTINTOWN -- Mahoning County District Board of Health is sponsoring rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets.
The clinics are being offered in cooperation with the city of Struthers, Animal Charity, the Mahoning County Dog Warden, Mahoning County Humane Society, Angels for Animals and local volunteer veterinarians. Rabies vaccinations of all dogs, cats and ferrets more than 3 months old is required in the county health district.
Clinics are scheduled at these locations:
May 7: 1 to 4 p.m., Struthers Police Department, 6 Elm St.
May 14: 1 to 4 p.m., Angels for Animals, 4750 State Route 165, Beaver Township.
May 21: 1 to 4 p.m., Berlin Fire Hall, Routes 224 and 534.
No appointment is necessary. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be caged or carried in a pillowcase. A $2 fee will be charged to cover supply costs.
