OHIO SCHOOL OHVA hosts parent information session

AUSTINTOWN -- The Ohio Virtual Academy will hold parent information sessions here Wednesday.
The sessions will be from 1 to 2 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn, 801 Canfield-Niles Road.
Families attending the information sessions will learn more about the school, view the curriculum, books and materials, witness a demonstration of the academic program, and find out how their child can enroll in the tuition-free public school for the 2005-06 year. OHVA teachers or administrators will be there to answer questions about the school. All sessions are free and open to the public.
The Ohio Virtual Academy is a statewide public community school that serves thousands of pupils across Ohio in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Working at home
In OHVA, pupils work at home with a parent or responsible adult and receive instruction and guidance from certified public school teachers who operate remotely.
Pupils who enroll in OHVA receive a computer, monitor, printer, access to the K12 Online School, lessons assessments, books, materials, planning and progress tools. Because OHVA is a public school, it is tuition-free for all residents of Ohio.
