California event recalls Healey wedding 60 years ago at St. Ed's



XPALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- Former Youngstown residents William J. Jr. and Mary Wilma (Cannon) Healey, 1327 Tiffany Circle North, were surprised April 7 with a dinner and reception for relatives and friends at O'Donnell Golf Club on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.
The event was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Harry Wick of Palm Springs; their son, William J. Healey III of Palm Springs, and his fianc & eacute;, Rhonda Skillern; and their granddaughters, Chelsea and Riley Healey. Also attending were the honorees' son and daughter-in-law, Chris and JoAnne Healey of Canfield, and their children, Elyse and Christopher Healey; and Mrs. Healey's sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Robert Gray of Youngstown.
The couple were married April 7, 1945, in St. Edward Church on Youngstown's North Side.
Mrs. Healey retired in 1983 as office manager for a Youngstown window replacement company, and is a member of Child Conservation League and Ladies of Charity. She also served as a CCD instructor for St. Charles Church in Boardman.
Mr. Healey was a terminal manager for Youngstown Cartage Co. before retiring in 1982 and is a member of Youngstown Traffic Forum.
The couple are members of Our Lady of Solitude Church.
