Area comic book shops will join with thousands of shops around the world to celebrate the American artform of comic books. The fourth annual Free Comic Book Day, May 7, falls near the start of summer's release of the "Fantastic Four" and "Batman" movies. Free comic books of all types will be given away.
"There are comics for children, for families to enjoy together, for adults and especially for people who think they would never read a comic book," said Paul Worley, owner of Bennie's Comic Book and Card Shop in Sharon, Pa.
The event will start at 11 a.m. at Bennies, 462 Sharpsville Ave., as well as All American Comics at 161 W. Market St. in Warren and 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman.

Studio 2B's hot
At first glance, Studio 2B (http://www.studio2b.org) looks like a lot of other Web sites for teenage girls. But if you look closer, you'll find that it offers content of more substance than its flashier counterparts.
This distinction comes from the site's sponsors. Studio 2B was created by the Girl Scouts and is maintained by the organization's By Girls For Girls Committee. Although written with scouts in mind, there is plenty of empowering material that applies to all teen girls.
The site's "Making Cents of Her Life" game is one example. The fun, interactive Flash-based activity puts you in the shoes of a teen or young adult. Your goal is to manage her money correctly, so you can meet her financial goals. Along the way you have to make some tough decisions, including creating a budget. In addition, the game shows you the fiscal consequences of your actions while explaining concepts like interest rates and taxable income.
Studio 2B's "Life" section has information on how deal with the challenges we face in our daily lives. From fitting in time for exercise on a busy schedule to coping with the loss of a close friend, these helpful articles run the full emotional gamut.Studio 2B is as enlightening as it is engaging.
