PREP BASEBALL South Range outlasts Jackson-Milton, 16-15

NORTH LIMA -- Joel Melnick's two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Tom DeChellis with the winning run as South Range High edged Jackson-Milton 16-15 in an Inter-County League game Wednesday.
Ben Detwiler led the Raiders (4-5, 3-1 ICL) with two triples and four RBIs. Eugene Leson hit a home run and single and Joe Marino two doubles to pace the Raiders' 17-hit attack.
Zack Kosa, Steve Bowles, Bart McGee and Mark Gibbs paced the Bluejays with three hits apiece.
McDonald 13, Lowellville 3
MCDONALD -- Tyler Stanley hit a two-run home run for the Blue Devils (5-3, 3-1 ICL) in the second inning. He was also the winning pitcher (1-2) with eight strikeouts.
Corey Vukovic added two singles for the Blue Devils. The Rockets fell to 1-9.
Campbell 16, Springfield 2
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- The Red Devils, who had 17 hits, broke the contest wide open as they scored eight runs in the second inning.
Lou Sammonas went 4-for-5 with four RBIs to pace the Red Devils. Craig DiRenzo hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run and scored three times.
Winning pitcher Nick Durkin (1-0) went 3-for-3 with an RBI and he scored twice.
Hubbard 16, Girard 8
HUBBARD -- Hubbard scored eight times in the sixth inning to outlast Girard in a Trumbull Athletic Conference slugfest.
The Eagles had 14 hits including four by Rob Sullivan, while winning pitcher Todd Ruminski also homered for the Eagles.
Girard, which outhit the Eagles with 16, was led by Brett Cubellis with four hits and Brett Dutton with three, including a triple.
Harding 16, Rayen 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- Barry Adkins drove in four runs and led Warren Harding over Rayen.
Josh Fulmer scattered four hits to pick up the victory, while Tom Popadak added two hits and DeAndre Ware had a double as Harding improved to 5-6.
Crestview 15, Southern 0
COLUMBIANA -- The Rebels sent 16 batters to the plate in the second inning as they scored 12 runs. Winning pitcher Greg Brown (1-0) hit a pair of singles and scored once, while Kyle Leskosky hit two singles and scored twice.
Brown allowed only one hit and struck out eight for the Rebels (4-4, 2-2 Tri-County League). Doug Hill of the Indians hit a single with two outs in the third inning to spoil the no-hit bid by Brown.
Craig Schmidt's three-run home run put the Rebels ahead in the first inning.
He also hit a single and finished with four RBIs.
