I-80 lane restrictions planned this summer

MERCER, Pa. -- Lane restrictions will be in place this spring and summer on Interstate 80 between the Mercer and Grove City exits during a $7 million road project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
The project, expected to be completed in September, began Monday with the eastbound travel lane closed from just west of Exit 15 to mile marker 22.
The westbound travel lane restriction from mile marker 22 to just west of the Interchange 79 interchange is about three miles.
On Monday, the remaining portion of the westbound lane, from the I-79 interchange to about 1/2 mile east of Exit 15, will be restricted. This pattern should be in effect until April 27.
The project involves patching and stabilization of the concrete roadway and paving with a bituminous overlay. It also includes bridge deck waterproofing and guide rail updates.
The contractor is I.A. Construction Co., Zelienople, Pa.
