Ms. Scharfetter to wed Richard Smith

XHUBBARD -- Patti Smith, 633 Jones St., is announcing the engagement and coming marriage of her son, Richard Smith of Port Orange, Fla., to Audrey Scharfetter of El Paso, Texas, daughter of Lindsey Pietsch of Sarasota, Fla.
Invitations will be issued for a beach ceremony at 7:30 a.m. May 7 in Daytona Beach, Fla., and a reception following at the Ocean Walk Resort Hotel there.
The bride-elect and her fianc & eacute; are graduates of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, where she earned a degree in research meteorology and he earned a degree in aerospace engineering. She is a second lieutenant platoon leader with the Army's 552nd Battalion of the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Fort Bliss, Texas, and he is studying for a master's degree in international studies at the University of Central Florida and is in ROTC officers training. Mr. Smith, who is also the son of Joseph Smith Sr. of Cocoa Beach, Fla., is in the master's program at the University of Central Florida. He will be commissioned as a second lieutenant May 6 and will be stationed at Fort Benning, Ga.
