The Western Reserve pitcher tossed a two-hitter and struck out 10.
BERLIN CENTER -- Western Reserve pitcher Jeff Zatchok fired a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Blue Devils, who dropped Springfield 4-0 in an Inter-County League baseball game Thursday.
Nick Lude hit a double and Vince Barbone a home run to pace Western Reserve (4-2, 1-1). Springfield is 5-1, 2-1.
Campbell 16, Wilson 6
CAMPBELL -- Frazier Trikios cracked out three hits including a double and drove in two runs to lead Campbell.
Lonnie McQueen had two doubles, while Craig Direnzo and Ryan Burton all drove in two runs for the Red Devils (3-2).
Howland 10, Brookfield 1
HOWLAND -- Jarred Bartholomew gave up one run over six innings, striking out a career-high 10 batters, to lead Howland.
Bartholomew (1-0) also had two hits for the Tigers (3-0).
Adam Solich, Tony Pozega and Manoli Pahoulis also had two hits.
Brookfield is 2-1.
Maplewood 3, McDonald 0
MCDONALD -- Maplewood scored three runs in the final two innings to defeat McDonald.
Craig Clemson scattered four hits and struck out seven to gain the win, while Tyler Stanley suffered the loss allowing seven hits while striking out seven.
Brian Roberts had two hits and Jake Abbott a double for Maplewood (2-0).
Tom John had two hits for the Blue Devils (3-2).
Jackson-Milton 12,Mineral Ridge 3
MINERAL RIDGE -- Adam Keck had three hits, while Zack Kosa, Matt Shields, Matt Nagg, Mark Gibbs and Bart McGee had two hits apiece for the Bluejays (3-2, 2-1).
Kosa had a two-run homer in the seventh.
Hubbard 5, Liberty 3
HUBBARD -- The Eagles (2-0, 1-0 TAC) were paced by Rob Sullivan, John Madeline, Frank Rosele and Tome Jones with two hits apiece. Tom Jones pitched a complete game with four strikeouts to pick up the win.
Newton Falls 11, Streetsboro 2
STREETSBORO -- Ryan Romack, Jaelec Worthy and Troy Balint all had two hits to lead Newton Falls (3-3).
George Davis and Justin Townsend each doubled for the Tigers.
Louisville 5, West Branch 4
LOUISVILLE -- Kyle Smith hit a home run in the four-run fifth inning as Louisville (6-1) rallied.
Steve McNeeley had two hits for West Branch (3-2).
