'Nefertiti's Affair' chosen as theme for benefit



The daylong event will feature a variety of vendors, fun and cultural education.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Plans are being finalized by members of the Ozone Business Gallery for "Nefertiti's Affair," a two-part, daylong fund-raiser to be held April 17 at the Buckeye Elks Youth Center, 4211/2 North Ave.
The first session is free of charge and will begin at 11 a.m., when the public is welcome to browse a variety of vendors until 5 p.m. Also available will be:
* 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. -- children's story time.
* 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. -- Mel the Lady Mechanic.
* 2:20 to 2:40 -- children's rap concert.
* 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. -- adult story time.
* 3:30 to 4 p.m. -- poetry.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the evening portion of the event. A fashion show will be held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. followed by music by Booker Newberry III.

About the group
The organization is a nonprofit group of minority women whose purpose is to assist individuals, organizations or businesses with a variety of services needed to establish representation. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the fight against malaria in Africa and Asia.
