TRUMBULL COUNTY Festival to benefit group

Proceeds will go to help an environmental organization.
HUBBARD -- Musicians with ties to this Trumbull County community will perform Oct. 17 at the first Rocktoberfest to benefit the grass-roots Hubbard Environmental & amp; Land Preservation group.
The festival will be from noon to 7 p.m. in the covered pavilion at Chestnut Ridge Campground, formerly Lorel's Park, on Chestnut Ridge Road.
Music will be by Hern Brothers Band; Sugarfuzz Orchestra; Ernie Valley's Elvis Lives On tribute; Uglystik; Hellenback; Time Warp, featuring two female students from Hubbard High School; and Carolyn Longo, niece of guitarist Phil Keaggy, in an acoustic duet with Christylee Roose.
Food will be sold at concession stands. A large Chinese auction also is planned.
Helping organization
Proceeds will benefit HELP, which is a nonprofit organization that oversees environmental concerns in the community. HELP began in opposition to a Maryland company's plans to accept construction and demolition debris on property it owns on Drummond Avenue.
All musicians will perform for free, and sound services will be donated by Nick Conti of Northeastern Audio Corp.
State Sen. Marc Dann of Liberty, D-32nd, will attend the festival, and state Rep. Sandra Stabile Harwood of Niles, D-65th, is tentatively scheduled to appear, businessman and musician Rick Hern said.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the gate. Admission will be free for children ages 10 and under.
Tickets may be purchased at Patton's IGA; Devine's Super Duper; Hubbard Music; Hern Motors; and from all participating musicians.
Information is available on Time Warner Cable community channel 16 or by calling the HELP info line at (330) 360-9449.
