GIRARD
Sept. 25
Theft: A purse was stolen during a party at a home in the 600 block of Lawrence Avenue.
Theft: A woman discovered her grandfather's .22-caliber firearm may have been stolen from her residence in the 100 block of East Main Street.
Assault: A woman in the 300 block of Ohio Avenue alleged a girl, 16, tossed a toy at her and struckher and her 11-month-old son before the two got into a fist fight. The victim had a bruise on her forehead and a bloody right ear.
Criminal mischief: Police discovered someone had tossed eggs and struck several vehicles on Gary and Ward avenues and Squaw Creek Drive.
Sept. 26
Criminal damaging: A Girard woman reported some banners hung near a football field at Girard Stadium on South Highland Avenue had been cut and damaged.
Theft: An employee at Mikeee's, 30 N. State St., discovered his bicycle stolen from the basement of the business.
Possible theft: A man in the 200 block of East Main Street reported his wallet lost or stolen while he was at Liberty Township Park, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Vandalism: A woman in the 100 block of West Howard Street told police someone punctured her garden hose and placed it in her swimming pool while leaving the water running.
Intrusion: Nothing appeared to be missing after a man in the 20 block of West Second Street heard his garage door go up and someone slam his backyard gate.
Sept. 28
Theft: Someone removed a $130 tree from Girard Cemetery, 100 W. Main St.
Breaking and entering: A car stereo, a compact-disc player, a sweat shirt, about 40 CDs, a pair of pants and a set of golf clubs and bag were stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue.
Breaking and entering: CDs, a bank card and driver's license were stolen from inside a car parked in the 200 block of Smithsonian Street.
LIBERTY
Sept. 21
Auto theft: A woman reported her 1992 Plymouth Acclaim missing from the Liberty Plaza parking lot, 3551 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A Niles man reported 90 medication tablets stolen from his a vehicle parked at the American Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive.
Breaking and entering: An employee at First National Bank, 3718 Belmont Ave., came to work and found her office had been ransacked and nearby glass window smashed.
Sept. 22
Forgery: A woman in the 1500 block of Victor Street discovered someone had used her driver's license to fraudulently withdraw $1,201 from her account at Bank One, 3999 Belmont Ave.
Theft: An employee at National Cash Advance, 3105 Belmont Ave., alleged a former worker admitted taking $1,437 from the business by cashing several fraudulent checks.
Vandalism: A woman reported that, as she traveled on state Route 193, an unidentified object struck and broke her vehicle's front windshield, causing $500 in damage.
Theft: A purse was stolen from a car parked at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
Arrest: Police arrested a 25-year-old Warren woman at a Speedway gas station, 4010 Belmont Ave., on charges of driving under suspension and providing false information to a police officer.
Criminal damaging: An employee at Zoodles Retail Store, 4425 Logan Way, reported someone used a rock to break a window, causing $300 in damage.
Sept. 23
Assault: A woman in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road alleged a boy, 17, assaulted her 13-year-old daughter. The victim was not injured.
Domestic violence: A 14-year-old boy was arrested at his Girard residence on a domestic-violence charge after his stepmother alleged he pushed her during an argument.
Sept. 24
Recovered property: A Girard man found a $150 children's bicycle in a wooded area near his home in the 1600 block of Liberty Street. Both of the bicycle's tires were missing.
Burglary: A woman in the 3000 block of Northgate Road reported a Sony PlayStation 2 game and game paddle and a $100 car stereo were taken by someone who broke in through the front door.
Theft: A man in the 2500 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road discovered 500 CDs and a can of paint stolen from his car.
Theft: A man discovered a leather coat, various CDs, a box of speakers and other items missing from his vehicle in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street. His loss came to about $800.
Aggravated robbery: A man in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive told police that two males, one in his late teens and the other in his late teens or early 20s, broke into his apartment and forced him at gunpoint to lie down on his living room floor while they stole a Sony PlayStation video system, $150 and an uncashed paycheck. The video system was found nearby and police recovered a mask one of the men had worn.
Sept. 25
Theft: A Girard woman reported her garage door opener and driver's license stolen from her car parked at the Liberty Plaza.
Sept. 26
Burglary: A woman in the 1100 block of Trails Edge Drive reported someone broke into her garage, car and residence. She discovered $3,000, her purse and a cellular phone missing.
Misuse of a credit card: After using her credit card to buy gasoline at Giant Eagle, a Girard woman received a phone call informing her of suspicious purchases that had been made with the card.
Drugs: After responding to a report of a suspicious person at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., police arrested a 48-year-old Youngstown woman on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments. Officers say they found a suspected heroin kit and a syringe in her purse.
Breaking and entering: A 25-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a breaking-and-entering charge after officers responded to an alarm and said they saw him leaving Fashion Bug, 3551 Belmont Ave., through a broken window. Police say the suspect admitted he had thrown rocks at the window before breaking in and taking 19 pairs of blue jeans.
Sept. 27
Theft/criminal damaging: A woman in the 4700 block of Fifth Avenue reported that both license plates had been taken off her car and that someone used a key to damage the finish on its passenger's and driver's sides.
Theft: Police reported a pair of binoculars, a canister of pepper spray, a ticket pan and a report pan were removed from a cruiser parked in the 300 block of Aurora Drive.
Theft: A woman discovered the front license plate was missing from her van parked at her home in the 2800 block of Belmar.
HUBBARD
Sept. 22
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Church Street reported his son's bicycle stolen from Roosevelt Elementary School, 110 Orchard Ave.
Theft: A woman in the 600 block of Creekside Drive reported her purse stolen while she shopped at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St.
Attempted theft: A woman in the 20 block of Orchard Avenue told police two juveniles tried to break into an apartment's coin-operated washing machine and dryer.
Theft: A Hubbard man discovered his briefcase missing from near his vehicle in the 10 block of West Liberty Street.
Sept. 23
Assault: A Hubbard boy, no age given, was charged with assault after a woman in the 200 block of Parish Avenue reported a fight between two boys at her residence.
Theft: Two boys reported a bicycle and scooter stolen from an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.
Sept. 24
Assault: Police arrested a 12-year-old Hubbard boy on an assault charge after an employee at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street told police someone threw a rock at several people nearby. The boy also was charged with possession of tobacco.
Theft: A woman and her son in the 300 block of Elizabeth Street reported the son's bicycle stolen from Reed Middle School, 150 Hall Ave.
Theft: A woman in the 500 block of Rebecca Avenue noticed her son's bicycle had been removed from her front porch.
Truck theft/recovered property: Police recovered a 1991 Chevy truck near a football field, no location given, after a woman in the 300 block of Caroline Avenue reported it stolen.
Theft: A man in the 500 block of Gladys Street discovered a cigarette lighter had been taken from his vehicle.
Sept. 25
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 30 block of East Water Street noticed someone had tipped over a portable toilet near a construction site on her street.
Burglary: A woman in the 900 block of Doris Drive told police someone broke into her residence and garage. It was undetermined if anything was stolen.
Attempted breaking and entering: A woman told police she heard someone trying to enter her residence in the 7300 block of Redwood Drive through the garage door.
