Woman gets 20 years in prison for crash
CLEVELAND (AP) -- The driver responsible for the wrong-way crash that killed a newlywed couple on a motorcycle in May has received a 20-year prison term.
Robbie Moore, 29, of suburban Warrensville Heights received Tuesday the maximum sentence allowable under state guidelines from Judge Kathleen Ann Sutula in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Moore pleaded guilty last month to aggravated vehicular homicide in the deaths of Jeffrey Bliss, 25, and his wife, Ann Marie, 20, of Parma, a couple that had been married for nine days at the time.
Authorities say Moore had driven nearly 10 miles on Interstates 71 and 90 before the crash.
Moore had a blood-alcohol level of 0.2 percent, about twice the legal limit in Ohio.
On Tuesday, Moore maintained she had only consumed two alcoholic drinks the night of the accident and said harming people wasn't in her nature.
But Sutula indicated she wasn't sympathetic to Moore, whose driving record includes several license suspensions, records show.
"Let no one walk out of here believing this was an accident," Sutula said. "This is the worst form of drunk driving and vehicular homicide."
