SOCCER Urrutia's goal lifts Boardman over GlenOak



Poland, Howland and Warren JFK posted shutout victories.
CANTON -- Senior Enriques Urrutia scored Boardman's second goal on an assist by Jeremy Winters Tuesday as the Spartans boys soccer team remained unbeaten in the Federal League with a 2-1 victory over Canton GlenOak.
Frank Dravecky made 10 saves for Boardman (7-2-2, 4-0-1).
Poland 4, Alliance 0
ALLIANCE -- P.J. Booth goal, Paul Rogers, Lenny Liguore and Alex Hunt scored for Poland (9-0-2, 6-0-1) in a Metro Athletic Conference match.
Max Pearce added an assist for the Bulldogs, who had a 17-3 shot advantage.
Chad Swisher had 11 saves for Alliance.
Howland 3, Niles 0
NILES -- Sean Gerin scored with a header on an assist from Mark Hammond. In the second half, Tim Lee scored on a pass from Mike Maiorana and Sean Gerin scored with a header off a crossing pass from Mark Burley.
Howland goalkeeper Paul Burley made one save in the first half and Zack Roscoe made four saves in the second half.
Niles goalkeeper Joe Harvey made eight saves.
Warren JFK 9, Chaney 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- Kyle Schimley scored four goals and added an assist while Jon Poponak had two goals for JFK (5-3-2).
Dan Crush, Paulo Lucero and Anthony Olive also had goals. Dominic Rubano, Matt Kokrak, Ed Hazboun, Olive, Jack Weaver, Jeff Jenkins and Brian Cullivan had assists. Kokrak had four saves and Brian Wilnik added one.
Enyar Ayupov had six saves and Mark Magnolia had one for Chaney (1-8-1).
Mooney 9, Warren Harding 3
WARREN -- Kiki Willis scored five goals for the Cardinals (8-0-1, 5-0) in a Steel Valley Conference game.
Zack Hernan had two goals and Dom DiPasquale had two goals and two assists. Nick Lutz and Nick Oles had an assist apiece.
Dimitri Founaris, Carey Antonio and Chris Penman each scored a goal for the Raiders.

CHAMPION -- Hubbard's Allison Wynne scored an unassisted goal midway through the second half to salvage a 1-1 tie with Champion in a Trumbull Athletic Conference girls soccer game.
Amanda Perry scored for Champion (5-2-4). Jessica Wood have five saves.
Hope Wright had three saves for Hubbard (3-7-1), which had a 10-6 shot advantage.
Mooney 9, Warren Harding 0
STRUTHERS -- The Cardinals guaranteed themselves a share of the Steel Valley Conference crown.
The Cardinals (10-0-1, 4-0) were led by Marisa Simon and Kelly Burke who had two goals apiece.
Also scoring were Mimi Vitello, Nomiki Frangopoulos, Vickie Dreiling, Colleen Hernan and Jessica Morrel.
Simon had two assists. Vitello, Bridget Crogan, Brittany Jones, Colleen Zajac and Mara Luongo had one each.
The Cardinals defense held the Raiders without a single shot on goal for the night while Harding (4-7, 1-2) goalkeeper Nicole Bellas recorded 11 saves.
Ursuline 9, Bristol 0
STRUTHERS -- Geralyn Tondo-Steele and Katelyn Tondo-Steele had two goals.
Mariah Snyder, Jessalin Modarelli, Hannah Snyder, Elizabeth Emanuel and Kaila Buckley also had goals.
Elizabeth Emanuel and Katelyn Tondo-Steele had two assists each while Bridgette Celio, Snyder, Grace McClurkin and Snyder all had one. Jolanta Carkido had three saves for Ursuline (4-5-1).
Kylie Robertson had 21 saves for Bristol (4-4-2).
