Johnson-led Springfield tops Range



NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Lindsay Johnson scored 16 points, with three aces, 11 kills and six blocks Tuesday to lead the Springfield High volleyball team to a 26-16, 20-25, 25-16, 25-17 victory over visiting South Range in a Inter-County League match.
Christy Warren added seven points and six kills for the Tigers (13-4, 6-0).
Tara Chizmar paced the Raiders (2-13) with 12 kills and two blocks. Pam Miller had two aces, 69 passes and 21 assists.

NORTH JACKSON -- Megan Whitmer had 24 points and 28 assists, Rachel Karash and Allison Chepke had 10 kills and Laura Yash had 12 blocks for Jackson-Milton (5-7, 2-3).

BERLIN CENTER -- Andrea Martin scored 13 points, with four kills and seven digs for the Blue Devils (10-6, 3-2). Sara Kutsko had 13 points, three aces, nine kills and eight blocks.

EAST PALESTINE -- Tricia Richards had 19 kills, four digs, 11 points and one ace; Michelle Parks had nine kills, two blocks and seven points; and Elyse Mongillo had 37 assists, eight points and three aces for Crestview (14-0, 9-0) in a Tri-County League match.
Amanda Mesmer had 18 points, four kills and eight blocks; Korie Beight had six points, five blocks and eight digs and Sarah Stewart had seven spikes and three blocks for East Palestine (6-6, 4-4).

HANOVERTON -- Chelsea Fennis had 18 assists, 37 sets, 17 points and nine aces; Ashley Webb had 15 kills and 10 spikes; and Ashley Bergman had five blocks, 10 spikes and five kills for United (7-6, 6-3 TCL).
For Southern (2-10, 1-8), Stacie Skeena had 16 attacks, six kills and six blocks.
