Howland's girls edged Canfield while Chaney's boys lost to United.
LIBERTY -- Page Poulis and Britni Morello each scored two goals as the Lakeview High girls soccer team defeated Liberty 10-0 on Monday.
Nikki Bevilacqua, Jen Baker, Alli Nero, Lauren Catuogno, Julie Ulam and Rachel Taddei scored one apiece for the Bulldogs (7-2).
Taddei had two assists while Kasey Baker, Poulis, Ulam, Bevilacqua, Julie Baker and Catuogno had one each. Lindsey Mellott had two saves for Lakeview, which outshot Liberty 36-2.
Zoe Sniderman had 10 saves and Brittany Schimf added seven for Liberty (0-11).
Howland 1, Canfield 0
HOWLAND -- Annastacia Filippidis scored a second-half goal as the Howland High girls soccer team bounced Canfield in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Amy Cornicelli had the assist for the Tigers (6-0-2, 5-0), who outshot Canfield 17-1.
Ashley Conti had 15 saves for Canfield (6-4, 3-3).
Poland 3, Salem 2
SALEM -- Sophomore Sarah Anderson and seniors Colleen Moran and Julie Noll scored for Poland (6-2-1, 3-2), which led 2-0 at halftime.
Noll and Sam Stanich added assists.
Seniors Vanessa Kelly and Laci Meals scored for Salem (4-6, 1-4).
Newton Falls 1, Maplewood 1
CORTLAND -- Brittany Spencer scored the goal for the Rockets (3-6-2) in the second half on an assist from Kristina Peterson.
Melissa Thiry scored for the Tigers in the first half on an assist from Courtney Collins.
Maplewood had 10 shots on goal and Newton Falls (3-5-3) had 16.
Maplewood's Bonnee Clute had 12 saves. Newton Falls' Grace Spletzer made seven.
Hubbard 5, Youngstown Christian 3
HUBBARD -- Liz Crafton had three goals while Maria Balad and Brittani Duval each had goals for Hubbard. Goalkeeper Michelle Stipetich made 10 saves.
Kara Cooper had two goals and an assist for Youngstown Christian (2-1-3). Kendra LaBamba added a goal and Vickie Bankhead had an assist. Kathy Wengerd made 30 saves.
North Canton 1, West Branch 0
BELOIT -- Aleesha Denmeade scored the goal on an assist by Jessica Oravec to lead Hoover (5-3-2).
Carli Poffenberger made 14 saves for the Warriors (5-6).
Badger 10, Jefferson 0
KINSMAN -- Shannon Sudon had three goals and two assists while Jenna Miller added three goals and Hannah Miller had three assists for Badger.
Cayla Arnold had two goals and two assists, while Sarah Dunfee and Maddie Anthony also scored for the Braves (9-2). Amanda Gordon had two assists and Jessica White had one.
Goalkeepers Lauren Hall and Jamie Polk combined for six saves.
For Jefferson (2-8), Lindsey Van Sickle had 16 saves.
Boys
YOUNGSTOWN -- Austin Dangler had three goals to lead the United High boys soccer team to a 5-0 win over Chaney.
Brock Volio and Chris Berkheimer each added a goal and an assist for United (4-4-1), while Shawn Timmons and Caitie Rinto had assists. Spencer Widlicka had five saves and Paul Baker had one.
Mark Magnolia had 14 saves for Chaney (1-7-1).
Maplewood 1, Lordstown 0
LORDSTOWN -- Ryan Bell scored for the Rockets (2-6) in the second half.
The Rockets had eight shots on goal and the Red Devils had 10.
Rockets goalkeeper Dustin Slusher made 10 saves while Brandon Wickline of Lordstown had seven saves.
Crestview 3, Oak Glen 2
COLUMBIANA -- Daniel Jones and Dustin Mercer each had a goal and an assist for Crestview.
Cory Leeson also scored for the Rebels (4-4-3).
Brad Elder scored twice for Oak Glen (6-7).
