HOW WE SEE THEM Vindicator football rankings

BIG SCHOOLS
(Div. I-III)
1. Fitch (5-0), vs. Massillon Jackson. The Falcons' defense has allowed just 14 points at the midway point to make their first appearance at the top.
2. Warren Harding (4-1), at Ursuline. The Raiders dropped after a lopsided defeat against Lakewood St. Edward that snapped their 32-game streak at Mollenkopf Stadium and 25-game streak in the regular season.3. Cardinal Mooney (3-1), at Riverside. After a week off, the Cardinals get back to business with a trip to Painesville.4. Howland (5-0), vs. Salem. Coach Dick Angle has his Tigers rolling again. So does Lance Smith, who scored three touchdowns against Canfield.5. Beaver Local (5-0), vs. Zanesville. There was no letdown from the Beavers as they routed state-ranked Bellaire.
6. Ursuline (4-1), vs. Warren Harding. Senior Derrick Stewart got the Irish ready for Harding by scoring three times against St. Thomas Aquinas.7. Hubbard (4-0), vs. Lakeview. To quote Liberty coach Jeff Whittaker, whose team lost to Hubbard 21-0 last week, the Eagles are "big, talented, strong and well-coached."
8. Canfield (3-2), at Niles. The Cardinals have lost two straight games by a combined eight points.
9. Rayen (4-1), at East Liverpool. The Tigers move up one spot after pounding Canton Timken in their City Series opener.10. Lakeview (3-2), at Hubbard. The Bulldogs continue their tough stretch of games, having faced Howland, Girard and LaBrae in consecutive weeks.
SMALL SCHOOLS
(Div. IV-VI)
1. South Range (5-0), at McDonald. The Raiders shot up three spots after handling Conneaut. They'll get their first Inter-County League test from McDonald.
2. Girard (4-1), vs. Newton Falls. The Indians were hurt in the poll by their narrow win over Brookfield, one week after losing to Lakeview.
3. Crestview (4-1), at United. The Rebels jumped four spots after an impressive win over rival Columbiana.
4. Liberty (4-1), at LaBrae. The Leopards need to rebound quickly from their shutout loss to Hubbard, with another tough road game against a high-powered offense.5. Warren JFK (3-2), at Steubenville Catholic Central. The Eagles suffered a stunning 41-13 home loss to Bluffton.6. Mineral Ridge (5-0), vs. Lowellville. The Rams remained unbeaten, but they did so with a narrow win (14-7) against struggling Jackson-Milton.7. Springfield (4-1), at Western Reserve. Talk about responding to the previous week's loss to Mineral Ridge, the Tigers pounded Lowellville 62-0.8. LaBrae (4-1), vs. Liberty. The Vikings are hot, and their timing is right. They face a Liberty team reeling from a 21-0 setback to Hubbard.9. McDonald (4-1), vs. South Range. The Blue Devils will get a good read on themselves this week when they face the state-ranked Raiders.
10. Columbiana (3-2), vs. Sebring. Bob Spaite's team needs a confidence boost after last week's loss to Crestview.
XCardinal Mooney and Ursuline are grouped in the big school division because of their prominent schedules.
