YOUNGSTOWN -- A break-in at Karpinski Family Restaurant, 2104 Hubbard Road, was discovered around 7 a.m. Sunday by the owner. Entry was gained by prying open a side door. The owner told police that a computer, $800 in cash and various food items were stolen. An inventory was to be taken to determine what else may have been stolen.
Traffic stop arrests
YOUNGSTOWN -- A traffic stop Sunday night on North Avenue for an expired temporary license tag resulted in the arrest of the driver, Akim Lattermore, 37, of North Avenue, and the passenger, Victoria Law-Redding, 39, of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Atlanta, who has been wanted in municipal court since 1998 for failure to appear for sentencing on charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license. Lattermore was charged with driving under suspension and expired tags.
Drug card information
CANFIELD -- Dublin Grange will have two informational presentations Tuesday about selecting the right Medicare-approved drug discount card. The one-hour presentations will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Fair Park on Oak Street. The presentations are free and open to senior citizens and their families. Refreshments will be served.
GED practice tests
CANFIELD -- Free practice GED tests will be offered from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on North Palmyra Road and from 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Educational Resource Center at Southern Park Mall near Sears. Test-takers must be at least 18 years, not enrolled in high school and have an Ohio driver's license or state identification card. Those that pass the practice test will receive a fee waiver for the official GED test. For more information, call the MCCTC at (330) 729-4100.Band night scheduled
BERLIN CENTER -- Band night will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at Western Reserve High School stadium on U.S. Route 224. The Mineral Ridge, Mathews, Sebring, Alliance and Western Reserve high school marching bands will participate. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $2 for senior citizens.
Board to meet
CAMPBELL -- The city school board will have a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board office to discuss personnel matters in executive session.
