VOLLEYBALL Lakeview wins tournament; Canfield is 3rd

The Bulldogs defeated Edgewood in the Blue and White Classic.
CORTLAND -- Lauren McCumber scored six points and made eight kills as the Lakeview High volleyball team defeated Edgewood, 25-19, 20-25, 17-15 to win the Blue and White Classic Saturday at Lakeview High.
Lindsay Whetzel made 15 digs for the Bulldogs (11-3).
Danielle baker scored nine points and made two blocks and six kills for Edgewood (8-3).

CORTLAND -- Michelle Antonelli scored eight points and made 22 assists and 10 digs.
Kelsey Owen scored five points for the Cardinals and Kelly Reese had 10 assists for the Cardinals (10-5).

CORTLAND -- Antonelli scored 12 points and McCumber made three blocks.
Lauren Hall scored eight points for the Rockets (7-8).

CORTLAND -- Trisha Dreslinski scored nine points and made five digs and seven kills.

CORTLAND -- Owen scored 11 points while Reese made 188 assists as the Cardinals won the third-place match. Jackie Nentwick had six blocks.
Ashley Conger led the Bulldogs with 16 points and 16 assists.

CORTLAND -- Stephanie Jarvis scored 10 points while Natasha Kissim had 12 blocks for the Cards. Kerrie Haurin had five blocks and eight digs.
Andrea Martin led the Blue Devils (9-6) with 10 points.

CORTLAND -- Doni Muransky led Poland with 19 points with 10 aces and three blocks.
Western Reserve 25-25,Chaney 13-14
CORTLAND -- Martin scored 10 points while Katie Harmon made 10 assists as the Blue Devils won the fifth-place contest.
Adrienne Peace made four assists for the Cowgirls (8-5).

CORTLAND -- Sara Kutsko scored 13 points and blocked three shots for the Blue Devils.
Melissa Shipman scored four points for the Rockets.

CORTLAND -- Latalia Jones scored eight points for the Cowgirls and Peace made 12 assists.
Alyssa Suckow scored nine points and made five kills and one block for the Red Dragons.
Niles 25-32,Maplewood 16-30
CORTLAND -- Suckow and Ashley Byrom scored nine points as the Red Dragons won the seventh-place game. Suckow made 10 kills and 10 blocks.
Brittney Bolinger scored seven points for the Rockets.
