Versailles -- no, it's not pronounced like the city in France -- defeated Fort Recovery 40-0 for its 21st consecutive win spanning three seasons, marking the third time since 1965 the Tigers have won at least 20 games in a row. The first streak was from 1965 to 1967 when the Tigers won 29 straight before dropping a 26-0 verdict to Miami East. The second was from 1993 to 1996 when the they won 54 in a row before falling to Marion Pleasant in the state finals.
Upper Sandusky's Greg Micheli accounted for 493 total yards and 8 touchdowns in a 56-10 win over Norwalk, hitting 21 of 28 passes for 315 yards and 6 TDs, and rushing 19 times for 178 yards and two TDs; Sandusky St. Mary's Spencer Dye now has 17 touchdowns in four games, rushing for 160 yards and three scores on offense and adding TDs on kickoff returns of 89 and 84 yards in a 47-28 win over Port Clinton; Lima Shawnee is 4-0 for the first time since 1991 after Ryan Downard tied a school record with 16 catches for 206 yards and one TD -- he also had an interception and threw a TD pass -- in a 31-28 victory over Defiance; Cincinnati La Salle QB Tyler Sheehan came off the bench to throw for 153 yards and two TDs and run for 179 yards and three scores in a 44-14 win over Gahanna Lincoln; and Pandora-Gilboa's Caleb Arthur had 206 yards rushing, 137 receiving and scored 5 TDs -- three on runs, one on a pass and another on an interception return -- in a 56-7 win over Vanlue.
Bo Frye rushed for 211 yards on 35 carries as St. Marys Memorial beat Ottawa-Glandorf 20-7; Hoban defeated Akron rival St. Vincent-St. Mary, 32-28, as Northwestern recruit Tyrell Sutton ran for 298 yards on 32 carries and scored three times.
