NATIONAL LEAGUE Reds' Wilson handles Bucs for 10th triumph

The Reds won their fourth straight game; the Bucs lost their fifth in a row.
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Paul Wilson became Cincinnati's second 10-game winner in as many nights, and the Reds used a five-run first inning to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-4 on Saturday night.
Jason LaRue drove in four runs for the Reds, who have won four straight and sent the Pirates to their fifth loss in a row.
Wilson (10-6) allowed one run and six hits in seven innings to win for the first time since July 8 at Milwaukee -- a span of 10 starts. He joined Aaron Harang as 10-game winners on the Reds.
Joe Valentine pitched the ninth and struck out Rob Mackowiak with runners on first and second for his third save.
Fourth losing season
The loss guaranteed the Pirates their fourth straight losing season at PNC Park. They're 38-41 with only today's series finale against Cincinnati remaining. The last time Pittsburgh had a winning record at home was 1999 when the team went 45-36 at Three Rivers Stadium.
For the second straight night, Cincinnati had a big first inning. The Reds broke out with seven runs, all earned, against Ryan Vogelsong on Friday. On Saturday, Cincinnati scored five times against Dave Williams (2-2), and left the bases loaded.
Williams faced 11 batters and threw 43 pitches in the first inning, and allowed five runs -- three earned -- and seven hits in five innings. He was coming off three solid outings in which he was 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA, but got into trouble almost as soon as he took the mound.
Ryan Freel led off with a single and moved to third one out later on Sean Casey's single. Austin Kearns picked up his fifth RBI in two days with a grounder that was misplayed for an error by first baseman Daryle Ward. D'Angelo Jimenez singled to load the bases and LaRue followed with a two-run single.
LaRue, 2-for-5, set a personal career high with 55 RBIs this season, surpassing his previous best of 52 in 2002.
Freel and Darren Bragg also drove in runs in the first.
