CITY/FEDERAL Chaney dealt third defeat by Newark

The Cowboys rallied but couldn't make up a 16-0 deficit.
NEWARK -- Chaney fell behind 16-0 through the first three quarters and couldn't make up the difference as it lost to Newark 16-12 here Friday.
Quarterback Aaron Huffman scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards to spark Newark (4-1).
Lamar Sykes of the Cowboys (2-3) gained 83 yards on 20 rushes, including a 9-yard TD run. Sam Balog scored on a 1-yard run.
The Cowboys had 117 rushing and 88 passing yards, compared to Newark's 27 rushing and 173 passing.
Alliance 33,Wilson 6
ALLIANCE -- Alliance's Chris Banks caught three touchdown passes from quarterback Charles Babb as the Aviators rolled up a 33-0 advantage through three quarters.
Babb finished 7 of 11 for 149 yards and four touchdowns for Alliance (3-2). Babb also had a 10-yard interception return for a touchdown. Steve Love caught a 13-yard TD pass.
Terrance Edmonds had three catches for 46 yards to lead Wilson (0-5), including a 28-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Massillon Perry 41,Boardman 34
MASSILLON -- Luke Kolic's 22-yard interception return with five minutes left gave Perry a 41-27 lead and the Panthers held on in a Federal League game.
Nate Tacsik scored his third touchdown of the game -- a 7-yard TD run -- with 3:37 left to cut the deficit to 7. The Spartans failed to recover an onside kick, but forced Perry to punt. They got across the 50 in the closing seconds, but could not convert.
Tacsik finished with 22 carries for 88 yards for the Spartans (0-5, 0-2), while K.T. Moses added 22 yards and a TD.
Matt Howells was 24 of 48 for 283 yards, a TD and an interception. Nick Russ caught five passes for 75 yards and a TD, while Armani Johnson had eight receptions for 116 yards.
Jeff Tallman had 26 carries for 226 yards and four TDs (three rushing) as the Panthers (2-3, 1-1) rolled up a 350-98 advantage on the ground. Tony Pierce added eight carries for 75 yards. Quarterback Rob Griffin was 3 for 5 for 46 yards.
