Salem tops Howland for 4th straight win



The Quakers remained unbeaten in the Metro Athletic Conference.
SALEM -- Brittany Gregory had six aces and six kills as the Salem High volleyball team kept its lead in the Metro Athletic Conference Thursday.
Salem (10-2, 7-0) defeated Howland, 25-11, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22 as the Quakers won their fourth straight match.
Katie Finnicum collected eight kills, two tips and a block and Sarah Brobeck had seven kills, four tips and two blocks for Salem.
For Howland (8-6, 3-4), Jaime Kelly had an ace and 23 kills.
Brittany Kelly added four kills and 28 assists.

NILES -- Jackie Nentwick led the Cardinals (8-4, 5-2 MAC) with 18 points and nine aces.
Kelly Reese had 19 assists for the Cardinals.
For Niles (2-7, 0-7), Amanda Furey scored 10 points, while Christy Mickel had 10 assists.

ALLIANCE -- Ashley Conger led the Bulldogs (8-3, 4-2 MAC) with 24 points, three aces, 12 assists and six kills. Donni Muransky added 16 kills, nine points and five blocks, and Bridget Hennon 29 digs.

CHAMPION -- Callie Oyler led the Eagles with four aces and eight kills. Danielle Knock had six blocks.
Heather Pegg paced the Golden Flashes (2-8, 1-7 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with nine kills. Haley York had five blocks and Shannon Gardner had six digs.

GIRARD -- Chelsea Morrison paced the Indians (11-3, 6-2 TAC) with 22 kills and two blocks. Brittany Kay scored 12 points, with four aces and 10 digs. Erin Stevens had 46 assists and two aces.
Morgan Bonekovic led the Warriors (7-7, 4-4) with 12 points, 13 kills and five blocks. Rachel Pasquerilla had 36 assists and four aces.

LEAVITTSBURG -- Maddie D'Orio had 25 kills, Lindsey Higgins 30 assists and Lia Gordon 21 points for the Vikings (9-4, 5-2 TAC).
Liberty (4-7, 2-6) was led by Ami Markowitz with 15 points and 11 kills and Chenelle Mills with eight assists.
