Ex-'Growing Pains' star charged in SUV crash

Ex-'Growing Pains' starcharged in SUV crash
VENTURA, Calif. -- Prosecutors filed three felony counts Thursday against former "Growing Pains" star Tracey Gold in the rollover crash of her sport utility vehicle.
Tracey Gold Marshall, 35, was at the wheel of the SUV when it flipped on a highway in Moorpark on Sept. 3, injuring her husband and two of her three children, authorities said.
The district attorney's office filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 causing injury, and felony child endangerment, Senior Deputy District Attorney Kim Gibbons said.
If she is found guilty, the maximum sentence would be five years in prison, Gibbons said. But he also said it was common for people in such cases to receive probation or a lesser amount of jail time.
The Marshalls' home phone number was unlisted, and the actress couldn't be reached to comment.
Blair Berk, a lawyer who represents Marshall, declined to discuss details.
"Tracey is a wonderful mother and incredibly respected in her community. Hopefully the truth of what really occurred will be more important to people than speculation or headlines," Berk said.
She is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 19 and plans to plead not guilty, her lawyer said.
Marshall wasn't hurt when the SUV flipped, but her husband, Roby Marshall, 39, suffered neck injuries. The couple's 7-year-old son suffered a broken collarbone, and their 5-year-old son was cut, said California Highway Patrol officer Steve Reid.
A 4-month-old son also in the vehicle wasn't hurt. Berk said the 5-year-old was uninjured.
'Wimbledon' actress upset at tennis stars' presence
Kirsten Dunst reportedly flew into a rage when she discovered British double Olympic gold medalist Kelly Holmes would be at the London premiere of "Wimbledon" on Monday, reports IMDB.com.
Dunst, still reeling after being overshadowed by Russian tennis sensation Maria Sharapova at the movie's recent Los Angeles premiere, feared she would again be upstaged by a sports star when she discovered just how popular track star Holmes is in the United Kingdom.
Sources say the 22-year-old finally agreed to allow Holmes to attend, but only if she slipped in at the last minute.
"When Kirsten realized what a huge star Kelly is, she wasn't happy at all," says one insider. "She'd heard that Tom Cruise liked Kelly -- that didn't go down well. But what really got to Kristen was the fact that Kelly is the British Golden Girl. The public adores her, and she thought the cameras would prioritize with Kelly over her. The same happened when Sharapova went to the U.S. premiere."
O'Reilly says Wallacewas career influence
NEW YORK -- Bill O'Reilly has revealed an unlikely factor in his career: Mike Wallace.
The host of Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" says on this Sunday's "60 Minutes" that Wallace made a strong impression on him when he was growing up.
"You know, you're responsible for this O'Reilly deal," he told Wallace in an interview taped Sept. 13 for the CBS news program.
O'Reilly explains that he was inspired by Wallace's tough questioning on "Night Beat" and "The Mike Wallace Interviews" in the late 1950s. He contends, "If you don't like me, you go to Wallace."
A surprised Wallace asks O'Reilly if he is serious. "No spin," replies O'Reilly, echoing his program's No Spin Zone. "I mean, I'm serious about everything."
O'Reilly, long a favorite of conservatives, surprised Wallace with some of his views on political issues.
He said he is pro-gun control, against the death penalty, for civil unions and for gay adoption (as a last resort instead of state custody). And O'Reilly said he's not necessarily voting for President Bush this November.
"I've known [Democratic presidential nominee John] Kerry for 25 years. He's a patriot. I'm listening to what he has to say," he told Wallace.
The 37th season premiere of "60 Minutes" will air Sunday at 7 p.m. (ET) on CBS.
