VIENNA -- Fifteen Air Force reservists, all assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing's 773rd Airlift Squadron here, are scheduled to return at 9 tonight from a 60-day deployment to an air base in Kuwait.
The forward operating location was responsible for airlifting materials and personnel into Iraq and surrounding areas as well as into the Horn of Africa in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Lawrence Co. makesrepairs to bridges
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Water damage from the remnants of Hurricane Frances caused problems with two Lawrence County bridges.
County commissioners said they had to make soil erosion repairs at Covert's Crossing Bridge in Union Township and Paper Mill Bridge in New Castle.
The $11,700 cost was paid from county liquid fuels funds, money derived from gasoline taxes that can only be used for transportation-related costs.
Post Construction completed the work Friday, commissioners said.
State Bar presidentwill visit Salem
SALEM -- Heather G. Sowald, president of the Ohio State Bar Association, will visit Salem at noon Tuesday to speak to attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession.
Sowald, of Columbus, will address the annual luncheon meeting of the OSBA District 13 at the Salem Country Club, 1967 South Lincoln Ave. District 13 includes 520 members who practice law in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
After the noon luncheon meeting, optional continuing legal education seminars will be 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Holocaust historianto speak at college
ALLIANCE -- Lani Silver, historian and founder and director of the Bay Area Holocaust oral history project, will speak at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dewald Chapel at Mount Union College. Her presentation is free.
Silver coordinated the gathering of 1,400 interviews with Holocaust survivors and witnesses for the Bay Area Holocaust project.
She also served as film director Steven Spielberg's chief consultant and interview trainer for his Holocaust oral history project the Shoah Foundation for Visual History.
Chance at halfway house
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ex-Mahoning County Sheriff Phil Chance was released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Mich., around 10 a.m. Tuesday, the prison said.
Chance has been transferred to a halfway facility in Akron.
His prison commitment ends March 19, 2005.
Inmates typically go to a halfway facility six months before their prison commitment ends.
The 55-year-old former sheriff entered prison Jan. 24, 2000, to serve a 71-month sentence after being convicted of racketeering crimes.
His sentence was reduced because he earned "good time" while incarcerated.
Chance must find employment within two weeks or return to prison until March 19.
Columbiana parade
COLUMBIANA -- Registration forms are now available for the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce's third annual Christmas parade.
Registration forms and information on parade rules and regulations are available at the Chamber office, 104 S. Main St.
The parade will be Nov. 20 starting at Joshua Dixon Elementary. It will form at 9 a.m. and start at 10 a.m. The parade route includes West Salem, South Main and Pittsburgh streets.

No tetanus shots
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- Lawrence and Beaver county residents seeking tetanus shots after recent flooding are instructed to go to their private physicians.
State Rep. Frank LaGrotta of Ellwood City, D-10th said his office got complaints because area residents were turned away from free tetanus shot programs in Allegheny County.
He explained that those were given by the Allegheny County Health Department for Allegheny County residents only. He said the state health department has no plans to offer free tetanus shots.
