Hair-care service offered to mission clients

YOUNGSTOWN -- Men, women and children serviced by Mahoning Valley Mission will receive haircuts and stress-relieving treatments at Project Daymaker, a Winnebago outfitted as a hair salon, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mission, 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The Winnebago has three stylist stations, shampoo station, massage area and reception area. Licensed professionals volunteering their time will be from Casal's de Spa and Salon.
Project Daymaker provides hair-care services to those who could not otherwise afford them. The project and Winnebago are sponsored by Fredric's Corp. of Fairfield, which distributes Aveda Beauty and Lifestyle Products in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan.
Nearly 7,000 people in the four states have been served since Project Daymaker began its mission in 1995. It has traveled to 140 cities and visited some 250 shelters. Visit the Web site at www.projectdaymaker.org for more information.
