Principal retiring
SHARPSVILLE, Pa. -- Sharpsville High School is losing its principal. Andrew Pollus, hired to fill the post 10 years ago, has handed in his letter of resignation, intending to retire. Dr. Derry Stufft, superintendent, said the Sharpsville Area School Board accepted the resignation Monday. It is effective March 31, 2005. The board hasn't decided how it will fill that post, Stufft said. The district had created the position of assistant high school principal this year and named Kirk Scurpa to fill that post. Having him there will ease the transition to a new principal while the school year is still in session, Stufft said.
