Police seek suspect in armed robbery

GIRARD -- Police have identified a suspect in the armed robbery of a city business last week.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Jonathan Spikes, 26, address not available, on a felony charge of aggravated robbery. Police say Spikes also has a warrant out of Liberty Township for failure to appear on a charge of receiving stolen property.
Police say Spikes is one of the men who entered the Payday Cash Advance on North State Street just before 11 a.m. Sept. 13, brandished a semi-automatic pistol and forced the manager at gunpoint to open the safe.
Capt. Frank Bigowsky said Spikes and another man, who has not been identified, may have had inside information about the store, since they disabled the security camera and then took the silent alarm from the manager. The men fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Spikes is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with brown hair and possibly a mustache and goatee. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Girard police at (330) 545-3526 or (330) 545-0212.
