Barnot earns degree
Ryan Barnot of Girard has received the degree of doctor of chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.
Dr. Barnot and his wife, Erin, live in Girard. He is the son of Joseph and Linda Barnot of Girard.
Dr. Barnot previously received a bachelor's degree in biology from Logan College and a bachelor's degree from Mount Union College, Alliance.
He has joined Jones Chiropractic Clinic Inc., 1223 state Route 7, Hubbard. He is an associate of Dr. Tony Jones.
SCOUTS
Bodnar gets Eagle award
Joshua J. Bodnar, son of Mary C. and Robert J. Bodnar of Austintown, has received his Eagle Scout award.
Bodnar began his Scouting career when he was 7 with Cub Scout Pack 32 in Ellsworth Presbyterian Church.
Bodnar joined Boy Scout Troop 71, chartered by Ellsworth VFW Post 9571, in 1997. He had had troop positions of assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, troop guide and is currently serving as an adult leader.
He is a member of the Order of the Arrow, Wapashuwi Lodge 56, and has served as the lodge chief and youth representative to the board of directors of the Boy Scouts Greater Western Reserve Council.
His Eagle Scout service project was the planning and construction of the Linda Basile and Senora Joni Sheridan Memorial Flower Garden at Western Reserve High School. He also was awarded the Mahoning County Junior Fair Outstanding Youth Award at this year's Canfield Fair.
He is a 2004 graduate of Western Reserve High School, where he was yearbook editor, president of his high school band and class valedictorian. He is enrolled as a Leslie H. Cochran University Scholar at Youngstown State University, where he is majoring in middle childhood education.

Barone earns doctorate
Abby Barone, principal of Canfield High School, recently graduated from the University of Akron with her doctorate in educational administration.
Barone received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Youngstown State University. She has been with the Canfield school system for 31 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and for the last seven years as principal.
Barone and her husband, Jim, have three children and live in Canfield.
HONORS
Ryan wins photo award
A photograph by longtime Niles resident Jack Ryan has earned a first-place award in the second Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission Friends of the Ohio Photography Contest.
The photograph, "Ore Boat on Ohio River," won in the Spring category and will be featured in the organization's 2005 Ohio River Valley calendar.
More than 200 entries, which depict the natural beauty of the waterways of the Ohio River Valley, were judged by a team of professional photographers. Ryan's photograph, taken from the banks of the Ohio River in front of Marietta's historic Hotel Lafayette, shows an ore boat passing under the Williamstown Bridge.
Ryan retired in 1995 after 33 years as an English teacher at Niles McKinley High School. For the past 23 years, he has served as a limited service English instructor and supervisor of student teachers at Youngstown State University.
He and his wife, Monnie, live on Brown Street. They are the parents of two children, Scott of Silver Lake and Christine Walters of Mineral Ridge. They have four grandchildren.
