UNCASVILLE, Conn.-- Crystal Robinson scored a season-high 22 points and paced a 12-0 run that helped the New York Liberty gain a playoff berth. Robinson made seven of 12 shots, including four of New York's nine 3-pointers. The Liberty erased a 4-point halftime deficit with seven 3s after the break. Robinson hit consecutive 3s to start the crucial run, and Elena Baranova and Shameka Christon had one apiece to give the Liberty a 37-35 lead with 15:41 left. Lindsay Whalen led Connecticut with 16 points. Her driving layup with 7:18 left capped a 7-0 run, and the Sun regained the lead at 51-47.
Silver Stars 82, Sting 65
SAN ANTONIO-- Adrienne Goodson and LaToya Thomas scored 22 points apiece, and the Silver Stars used a 21-7 run midway through the second half to break open a game tied at halftime. Charlotte dropped into a tie with the Detroit Shock for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They meet Sunday in Detroit the final day of the regular season. Thomas had 12 points in the run and ended it with a three-point play with 8:04 to go. The run was aided by the stingy defense of Semeka Randall, who announced her retirement before the game.
