Directors elect Gary Roberts to be president and CEO

Roberts is only the 12th president in the bank's 140-year history.
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The board of directors of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, a subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp., has elected Gary Roberts as the bank's new president and chief executive.
Roberts had been serving as the bank's senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.
He succeeds Stephen Gurgovits, who has had dual responsibilities as president and CEO of both the bank and the corporation since January.
Gurgovits was elected chairman of the First National Bank board at Wednesday's board meeting and will continue as the corporation's president and CEO.
Peter Mortensen, who has been chairman of the board of both the bank and corporation, will remain chairman of the corporation, and will chair the executive committee of the F.N.B. board.
"Both First National Bank and F.N.B. Corp. deserve a full-time CEO," said Gurgovits, who joined First National Bank on Sept. 15, 1964, and has been president since 1988.
Roberts is only the 12th person to serve as president of First National Bank since its founding in Greenville in 1864.
