GIRARD
Sept. 12
Theft: Police arrested a Hubbard man, no age given, on a theft charge after a Leavittsburg woman reported her purse stolen while she was at Mikeee's, 30 N. State St. Her purse, wallet and checkbook were later recovered near the suspect's vehicle.
Aggravated menacing: A man in the 200 block of East Main Street alleged that, when he tried to get $50 back, a Girard man waved a steak knife around and threatened to shoot him while they were at a residence in the 10 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Sept. 13
Aggravated robbery: An employee at Payday Cash Advance, 519 N. State St., told police two men in their early 20s threatened her with a semiautomatic handgun, demanded money and forced her to open a safe before fleeing on foot on North Avenue. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
LIBERTY
Sept. 7
Theft: A Burghill man discovered a $200 cellular phone had been removed from his truck while he was at a Speedway gas station, 4210 Belmont Ave.
Vandalism: A neighbor called police after someone damaged an air-conditioning unit, six windows, three wooden doors and frames and two walls at an apartment in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue. Damage was estimated at $1,550.
Sept. 8
Theft: A man in his mid- to late 20s stole two 24-packs of beer from a Speedway gas station.
Sept. 9
Arrest: After responding to a report of an intoxicated woman at a Speedway gas station, police arrested a 33-year-old Girard woman. She was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
Auto theft: An Essex, Conn., man told police someone stole his 1997 Ford Ranger and a U-Haul moving vehicle in a rear parking lot at Hampton Inn, 4400 Belmont Ave.
Sept. 10
Auto theft: Someone cut a hole through a chain-link fence at Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave., before stealing a 1973 Plymouth station wagon.
Criminal damaging: A man reported some juveniles shot BBs at a nearby building and struck his vehicle, resulting in a chip in the windshield and $150 in damage, at his home in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road.
Sept. 12
Criminal damaging: A man in the 1700 block of Holly Drive said that a Warren woman, 29, used a key to damage his car's finish and that she placed candy in the gas tank, causing about $5,000 in damage.
Aggravated menacing: A Girard woman told police a man, 19, threatened to stab her while she was visiting a residence in the 40 block of James Lane.
Sept. 13
Theft: An employee at Dutchess Dry Cleaners, 2710 Belmont Ave., noticed that someone had taken an electric feed welder and miscellaneous pieces of welding equipment from the business, for a loss of $1,012.
HUBBARD
Sept. 8
Arrest: Boardman police arrested a Hubbard man, no age given, wanted on a warrant from Hubbard charging him with receiving stolen property and theft.
Theft: Several movie videos were stolen from Video Express, 230 N. Main St.
Drugs: After responding to and locating a suspicious vehicle near a maintenance shed at Harding Park, 249 Roosevelt Drive, police found a suspected marijuana pipe inside the car.
Sept. 9
Criminal damaging: A woman reported someone shot a BB through a window at her home in the 100 block of Creed Avenue.
Sept. 10
Theft: A Hubbard man discovered a police bag had been stolen when he returned to his vehicle parked at Deer Creek Golf Club, 7691 E. Liberty St.
Attempted burglary: A woman noticed someone tried to gain entry to her home in the 500 block of South Main Street. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Sept. 11
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Jackson Street reported some items stolen from him while he was visiting a home in the 200 block of North Main Street.
Sept. 12
Recovered property: A Hubbard man found an abandoned mountain bike parked near a trash bin at Williams Machine Shop, 461 N. Main St.
