Best Bets on TV Tonight
With so many awards shows on television, sometimes it's hard to tell them apart. The World Music Awards (ABC, 9 p.m.) is the one that used to take place in Monte Carlo, but this year it will be shown live from Las Vegas. Scheduled performers include Celine Dion, Hillary Duff, Avril Lavigne, Kanye West and Usher.
The debut of NBC's animated show based on Siegfried & amp; Roy's performing white lions brought to mind the life-threatening injuries suffered by Roy Horn in October when he was attacked by a tiger. Tonight, the network revisits what it calls an "onstage accident," and Horn talks with Maria Shriver about his recuperation in "Siegfried & amp; Roy: The Miracle" (NBC, 9 p.m.).
"The Question of God" (PBS, 9 p.m.), a two-hour show, ponders cosmic questions such as what is happiness, does God really exist, how do we cope with suffering and death and is there such a thing as evil. Based on a popular course at Harvard University, taught by Armand M. Nicholi, the show explores the struggles and minds of two of the 20th century's most original thinkers, Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis. Psychoanalyst Freud was a lifelong critic of religious belief, while literary critic Lewis was a proponent of faith based on reason. The show ends with another two-hour episode next week.
"Emmy's Greatest Moments" (TV Land, 10 p.m.) enlists Jason Bateman as host of this hourlong special that looks back at highlights of the annual TV awards show. What he'll do for the remaining 55 minutes is anyone's guess.
