TRUMBULL COUNTY Educator to lead wetlands walks

HOWLAND -- Local environmental education educator Brice Harris will lead wetlands walks into the Howland Wildlife Preserve in the township.
This will be an informal educative walk with discussion points about pond ecology, amphibian biology, flood plains, wildlife and wetlands.
Harris is a curriculum and instruction supervisor for the Trumbull County Educational Service Center. He specializes in environmental education and science.
The final walk of the season is Thursday. Participants may park and meet at 7 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley parking lot on North Road.
Participants should wear boots or walking shoes, light-colored clothing, long pants, long sleeves, sunscreen and/or mosquito repellent.
Participants may also bring binoculars and field guides.
This walk is being offered in conjunction with TAMPEEL, Trumbull County Educational Service Center's environmental education program. Pupils from 17 Trumbull County school districts learn about the environment through authentic hands-on-experiences during three days of instruction at the township park facilities.
