SOCCER LaBrae's Peterson scores in 2-1 win



Badger's girls drilled Liberty, 8-0, while West Branch beat Boardman.
LIBERTY -- Blaine Peterson scored both goals as LaBrae High defeated Liberty 2-1 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference boys soccer game Monday.
LaBrae (2-3, 1-2 TAC) was outshot, 17-10.
Ron Hunkus scored the goal for the Leopards (1-4, 0-2) and goalkeeper Jeremy Hume had six saves.
Dan Dean of LaBrae had 12 saves.
Badger 5, Warren Harding 2
WARREN -- Senior Brad Panek scored a season-high three goals, including a pair in the first half when the Braves (4-1) took a 2-0 lead.
Josh Shreves also scored twice for Badger.
Chris Penman and Carey Antonio scored for Warren Harding.
Girls
KINSMAN -- Hannah Miller scored four goals, while Tessa Bonar added two and Sarah Dunfee and Cayla Arnols each one, as Badger defeated Liberty 8-0.
Miller and Bonar had two assists apiece, while Michelle Fitch and Shannon Sudon each had one.
Badger had 24 shots on goal to Liberty's 5.
West Branch 5, Boardman 2
BOARDMAN -- Paige Stryffler scored two goals to spark the Warriors (3-3). Melanie Kiko, McKenzie Wallace and Allison Kuentz added a goal apiece.
Lisa Bell and Kiko each had two assists and Niki Brown had one.
L. Sirak and Hackett scored a goal apiece for Boardman (1-5).
West Branch had 27 shots on goal and the Spartans had eight.
Carlie Poffenberger, goalie for the Warriors, had eight saves.
Lakeview 5, Hubbard 1
CORTLAND -- Nikki Bevilacqua scored two goals for the Bulldogs (5-1). Alli Nero, Jen Baker and Kasey Baker each had one. Rachel Taddei had two assists and Jackie Trina had one.
Rachel Crafton scored the goal for the Eagles (2-3).
Lakeview had 21 shots on goal and Hubbard 19.
Lindsey Mellott had 14 saves for the Bulldogs, while Hope Wright had five saves for Hubbard.
Poland 5, Alliance O
ALLIANCE -- Maureen Malone, Jackie Cavalier, Laura Hassay, Ashley Luthern and Sam Stanich each scored a goal for Poland (3-0-1). Sarah Sanderson, Colleen Moran, Allison Holsinger, Stanich and Hassay all had assists.
Poland had 15 shots on goal and Alliance (1-3) had four. The Aviators' Jen Weimer had 10 saves.
Newton Falls 6, Girard 1
GIRARD -- Kortni Collins scored two goals for the Tigers (2-1-4, 1-2 TAC).
Also scoring goals for the Tigers were Emily Montgomery, Mary Jo Spletzer, Casee Piquet and Alexis Seifert.
Erica Leskovec scored for the Indians.
