MAKE-A-WISH Restaurant plans fund-raiser meal

MERCER, Pa. -- The Springfield Restaurant Group expects to surpass the $200,000 mark in contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation with its fifth annual "A Taste of Springfield's" event Monday.
The fund-raising effort has raised $191,700 over its first four years, and Monday's event at the Springfield Grille from 5 to 9 p.m. is expected to carry the drive over the $200,000 level.
Diners will get a buffet-style meal that features creations from all seven restaurants in the Springfield Restaurant Group. Guests also will get a chance to bid on prizes at a live auction.
All proceeds, including any tips the employees make during the evening, will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
The foundation is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children under the age of 18 with life-threatening illnesses.
The Springfield Restaurant Group was established in 1979 and includes the Iron Bridge Inn and Rachel's Roadhouse in Mercer, the Log Cabin Inn in Harmony, Pa., the Hickory Bar & amp; Grille in Hermitage and the Springfield Grilles in Mercer, Mars and Boardman.
