KEYSTONE CLIPS Visual arts at Hoyt will get grant

The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle is getting a $12,692 state grant for its visual arts program.
State Rep. Chris Sainato of New Castle, D-9th, announced the grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
The agency gives money to foster the arts in Pennsylvania.
Camp donations
Camp Cadet, a summer program for youths run by the Pennsylvania State Police, got two donations for future camps.
Atty. Dallas Hartman gave $2,000 and the New Castle Wal-Mart associates gave $500.
Hartman has been a continuous supporter of the program, and Wal-Mart's donation came from its community grant program.
Gun targets
Felons with guns are the target of a new program started by Lawrence County District Attorney Matthew Mangino.
The public service campaign "Gun Crime? You'll Do the Time" was launched this month with billboards and other education tools.
The program is funded by a Project Safe Neighborhoods grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.
People are encouraged to participate by reporting illegal guns, gun crimes and other suspicious neighborhood activity anonymously by calling (724) 674-8275.
