XSALEM -- The garden at the home of Karen and D. Philip Buchmann, 621 N. Union Ave., provided the setting Aug. 7 for the wedding of the couple's daughter, Sarah Beth Buchmann of Lynchburg, Va., and Dr. Jeffrey Richard Corney, also of Lynchburg.
Parents of the groom are Sandra Brinkman, 715 Elmwood, Dearborn, Mich., and the late James Brinkman, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Corney, 50958 Northview, Plymouth, Mich.
The Rev. Neal Mac Kelly presided at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony, and a reception followed. The couple left on a wedding trip to Georgia and Florida and live at 356 Juniper Drive, Lynchburg.
Gold embroidery and champagne satin ribbon accented the bride's strapless ivory and champagne gown.
Alicia Silverio, the honor attendant, wore a cinnamon and gold gown, and the flower girl, Emily Peterson, wore an ivory gown.
Dr. Bradley Welch served as best man, and the usher was Zachary Buchmann.
The bride graduated from the Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in natural resources and environmental education, interpretations, and communication. She is employed at Lynchburg College as an education coordinator for the Claytor Nature Study Center, and is a naturalist/educator for the Department of Parks and Recreation in Lynchburg.
Dr. Corney received his doctorate in natural resources from OSU, and is an assistant professor of environmental science, and director of the Claytor Nature Study Center in Lynchburg.
