NEW WILMINGTON Westminster set to induct eight in HOF
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College department of athletics will hold a pair of special ceremonies Sept. 18 at the football game against Hiram College. Westminster will induct eight members into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame and the college will hold a "Campus Salute" for former Titan standout quarterback Harold Davis, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind. in August.
Davis was a standout quarterback for the Titan football team from 1953-56, and during that span became the first and only three-time first team All-American in school history (1954-56). During his career, Davis led Westminster to a record of 28-1-1 (.950), including the first undefeated seasons in school history in 1953 (8-0), 1955 (6-0-1) and 1956 (8-0).
The Titan Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2004 will be introduced at halftime of the football game, then will be officially enshrined at a banquet following the game.
