FOOTBALL Southington unable to stop Morgan Lloyd



SOUTHINGTON -- Morgan Lloyd, a senior tailback, scored five touchdowns and rushed for 324 yards in 25 carries, to rally Conotton Valley to a 43-20 win over Southington Saturday afternoon in a high school football game.
Southington held a 20-15 lead in the third quarter, but Lloyd reeled off three straight TDs of 61, 13 and 36 yards to finish Southington and help his team stay undefeated.
Bryan Vint capped the scoring for Conotton Valley (3-0) with a 3-yard TD dash, and finished with 48 yards in seven carries.
Jimmy Bauger led Southington (1-2) to its early lead. He hit J.P. Barco on a 55-yard TD pass in the first quarter, and plunged 1-yard to a score in the second period, Bauger was 4-for-20 passing for 89 yards.
Zack Stalnaker scored on a 47-yard run in the first quarter for the Wildcats, and finished with 79 yards rushing in 13 carries.
Akron East 13,Canton Timken 6
CANTON -- Caleb Beasley had 12 carries for 33 yards and scored a 1-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to help lift East at Fawcett Stadium.
Jeremy Parker added a 29-yard touchdown for the Orientals.
Carl Cole led the Trojans (1-2) with 22 carries for 39 yards and Larry Hubbard added a 5-yard touchdown run.
