Evangelistic meetings
NILES -- Evangelist Norm Sharbaugh will hold a series of evangelistic meetings at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and 7 p.m. Oct. 11, 12 and 13 at Evansville Baptist Church, 1585 Ohltown-McDonald Road. Sharbaugh is a graduate of St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Ind. He taught religion in a large Catholic high school in Grand Rapids, Mich., and was a basketball coach before becoming an evangelist.
Flame Fellowship to meet
BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown Chapter of Flame Fellowship International will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Beard Cabin in Boardman Park. Guest speakers will be Mark and Cheryl Kholos from Salem, who will teach on the three feasts (Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Passover) and conduct a Seder for all who attend.
Grace Lutheran Rally Day
EAST PALESTINE -- Sunday is Rally Day at Grace Lutheran Church, Grant and Walnut Streets. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 a.m. Beanie the clown will entertain, and there will be a balloon launch. Worship is at 10:45 a.m. with special music and messages for children. Lunch is at 11:45 a.m.
St. Joseph the Provider
CAMPBELL -- St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., will begin a new season of Evenings of Praise and Worship at 7 p.m. next Saturday. There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament along with Praise and Worship music. The upcoming schedule is at www.popministry.com.
Living Water anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- Living Water Missionary Baptist Church, 97 E. Montrose St., will have an open house celebration from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 18 to celebrate the church's first anniversary.
Rally Day at Calvary
NORTH LIMA -- Calvary United Methodist Church will have Rally Day starting at 9:15 a.m. Sunday. The theme is "Take Another Step for the Lord." There are classes for all ages, including a New Member Class, which starts Sunday. In conjunction with Rally Day, a new Bible study will begin at 11 a.m. Sept. 15.
Discussion on Christianity
GIRARD -- Those who have questions about the Christian faith, the Bible, the church and how all these relate to life in our contemporary world are invited to an open question and discussion time at 7 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Church Hill Road. Message series to begin
GIRARD -- Pastor Doug Meek will begin a new message series, "Victory Over Life's Challenges" on Sunday, at Girard First United Methodist Church. Topics will include: "How to Win Over Worry," "Take This Job and Love It," "Raising Kids Without Raising Your Blood Pressure," "How to Beat the Blues," "Dealing With Life's Detours," "Holding Up Under Pressure" and "Turning Tragedy into Triumph." Drama at Miracle Valley
HERMITAGE -- Miracle Valley Church, 2119 Valleyview Road, presents the drama "Where Will You Be When Reality Strikes? Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames." The show will be at 7 p.m. nightly Oct. 3-5. Admission is free.
Parenting program
HOWLAND -- Howland Community Church is again offering ARK, Adults Relating to Kids. The program is based on research of Children's Center for Self-esteem and mixes Christian values and current parenting theory.
